Yep, a typo. C to D is a major 2nd not a perfect 2nd. I'll fix the post in a moment.

Ty,
I was reading this post and under \Interval quality\ you say that \For instance C to D is called a perfect second,\ but further down you asy \Seconds, thirds, sixth and sevenths are never perfect – but they can be minor and major\.
Is this a typo?
Cheers

You found a typo! C to A is a major sixth and A to C is a minor third.
Thanks for catching that one. I'm just fixing it now.

Take care,
Ty

Hi Ty,
Thanks so much for posting this blog. Very helpful.

I have a question though. Up above you list in your table that min 6th interval will have 8 semitones and that a Maj 3rd will have 4 semitones. You then list list below that C to A in a minor 6th and the compliment (A to C) is a Major 3rd. This doesn't seem to work (there are 9 semitones from C to A and 3 semitones from A to C). Am I missing something here or have I completely misunderstood this?

Appreciate your further guidance on this.

Thanks,
Paul
